Haut Gap Middle is one of five schools in Constituent District 9. As the only middle school on the island, Haut Gap is home to 500 students.

Debuting their outdoor classroom that incorporates agriculture, the school will formulate an entrepreneur program and sell produce at the Johns Island Farmers Market. Serving fifth through eighth-grade students, Haut Gap is a partial magnet school.

Haut Gap students can also take advantage of various notable programs like Gear Up— giving students college awareness and readiness, the 21st Century Grant---part of their afterschool initiative, and enjoy their state-of-the-art sports facilities- managed by Charleston County Parks and Recreation, where the community and school can work and play together.
